COMMON QUESTIONS
What is the Shutoff and Detector compatibility?
While the Smart Water Shutoff regularly scans the plumbing in your house for risky leaks and signs of compromise, it occasionally fails to detect fixture failure. Appliances like freezers, sink drains, and water heaters can break down and leak outside of the main plumbing system.
Is there a monthly fee?
Nope! Moen stopped offering the monthly membership required to access advanced data capabilities as of August 17th, 2020. All Shutoff users now have unrestricted access to all features and data.
Will it shut off the water for something like a dripping faucet?
No. You will also have full control over sensitivity levels for your home and when you should be alerted.
Does the Shutoff need Wi-Fi?
A typical 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection is needed to set up and maintain Shutoff’s continuous software upgrades. Notably, the Smart Water Shutoff is Wi-Fi capable rather than reliant. In case of Wi-Fi outages, your water usage data is kept locally on the device.
